The cut is the most essential part of any hair style.  Scissors are the tools of any great hair designer.  Knowing how to use them effectively is a passion that stems from education and understanding the way hair grows.

At Lofty Salon our specialties include fine hair, which requires a cut to add thickness and volume; curly hair, which needs special consideration based upon the tightness of the natural curl in combination with the density of the hair; and thick course hair, which needs less volume and a special cutting technique.

Permanent Wave/Body Wave Volume
A permanent wave, commonly called a perm, is the chemical treatment of hair to produce curls. In cosmetology, it is termed a type of curl reformation. Humans have been attempting to add curl to straight hair for thousands of years.

b Highlights and Lowlights
Combining highlights and lowlights creates a vibrant, "dimensional" look that can beautifully enhance your complexion and eyes. Another big benefit: highlights/lowlights grow out gracefully, with no obvious roots.

b Hair Painting
Hair painting is the application of bleach or a colorant directly to hair with a small brush. This method is less work and a lot more fun than traditional methods of highlighting strands of hair pulled through holes in a plastic cap.
